Novel Settings

1: Set all 10 tags for the novel.

It will increase your discoverability of your book. Tags are used when a user is searching for a book, when we set promotions, and it also gives a quick info regarding what your novel is about.

Plot line

1: If you wonder if it’s too early to start locking chapters by chapter 10, it’s time to re-write your storyline.

Most readers decide if they will continue reading your book on the first few chapters. Ensure the story is exciting, tight, and to the point without fillers, repetition, and unnecessary information. Your first chapter should end with a hook, or you will risk losing readers.

Chapters

1: Recommended chapter size on the MFR = 1500 words.

An average reader reads about 300 words per minute. 1500 words will give them five minutes of entertainment.

2: The maximum limit for published chapters is 3k words.

If your chapter is close to 3k words, split it into two (part 1 and part 2).

3: Bold and Italics formatting show in the app — use them!

Treat Yourself as a Brand

1: Set your public facing author’s info in My Page. Use Preview to see how readers will see it on their phone, tablet, and web view.

VIP

1: If your book is exclusively contracted, turn on the VIP.

Tier 1 = 5 chapters

Tier 2 = 10 chapters

VIP chapters can be unlocked only via coins, which will boost your income since readers can’t use vouchers to read the latest chapters.
